Challenge:
Supervisors and managers lacked a clear, consistent way to explain and verify how production waste was calculated, which led to confusion among associates and unreliable reporting across shifts. This made it difficult for leadership to identify true cost drivers and track efficiency improvements.
Solution:
I developed an eLearning course called Production Waste Calculator, designed specifically to support supervisory staff in standardizing training and communication. The module walked through the calculation process step by step, included interactive scenarios using real plant data, and provided built-in assessments supervisors could use to confirm team understanding.
Results:
Supervisors reported that the course gave them a reliable tool for reinforcing consistent waste calculations with their teams. Upper management saw greater accuracy in reported waste numbers, improved cross-shift consistency, and clearer insights into production efficiency—supporting more data-driven decisions on cost reduction strategies.
